5 Killed, Several Injured in Grisly Accident [PHOTOS]

Five people have been killed and several others injured in an accident involving multiple vehicles at Migaa area near the Salgaa black spot on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

According to witnesses, the incident involved two saloon cars, four transit trucks, one double cabin truck and two canter trucks.

Reports indicate that the accident occurred after a truck heading from Eldoret to Nakuru got a break failure and veered off the road hitting several vehicles.

One of the drivers who survived the crash stated that his vehicle was hit from behind by the truck carrying logs.

A resident who rushed to the scene to rescue the victims found bodies trapped in a saloon car and another body thrown out.

The driver of the truck that caused the crash died on the spot and his body was stuck in the wreckage of the vehicle.

Rift Valley Traffic Enforcement Officer Zero Arome confirmed the incident stating that police officers had retrieved bodies from the scene.

Arome added that several people who were injured were rushed to various hospitals.

In September, 11 people were killed after several vehicles crashed on the Nairobi-Thika superhighway.

The accident is said to have occurred after a matatu rammed into a lorry.
