National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has been invited to participate in an upcoming election by the Bunge la Mwananchi movement.
Speaking at Jevanjee gardens, Bunge's Chairman Henry Shitanda stated that Mr Odinga was welcome to face off with other candidates contesting for the leadership of the movement.
Mr Shitanda further stated that the Opposition leader would be invited to join the movement’s daily debates at the Jeevanjee Gardens so as to present his agenda.
The Chairman, however, noted that the group would not accept Mr Odinga’s plans to take over their platform but he would be allowed to join it like any other Kenyan.
Shitanda further opposed NASA’s earlier proposal for the establishment of a People’s Assembly noting that it would be a duplicate of what they have.

"We shall require Mr Odinga and his co-principals to abide by our rules and democratic traditions. We are a non-violent movement that seeks to unite all Kenyans and we require him to publicly reject violence and the secession agenda before joining the movement or we shall reject his agenda totally.
“He will choose what sitting to attend as we are devolved to all areas and counties, but he can join the Jeevanjee meeting,” stated Mr Shitanda.
One of the members, however, dismissed Shitanda’s statement terming it as a Jubilee propaganda aimed at demeaning Mr Odinga.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, David Otieno stated that the NASA leader was free to join the movement anytime without permission from anyone as he shares their principals.
"Shitanda seized to be a Bunge member a long time ago. If you ask him what Bunge Chapter he is in, he won't have an answer. What he is saying is part of Jubilee propaganda to meant to demean Raila Odinga," Otieno stated.
"Bunge is open to anyone who cares about the good of the people. Raila Odinga shares our sentiments thus he does not need an invitation from anyone to join us," he added.
The Movement carries out its daily activities in Nairobi streets and under trees in villages with an aim of inspiring social dialogue among people living together.
