What Jubilee Governors Plan to Do in NASA Strongholds

A section of Jubilee Governors has vowed to transverse Nyanza and Western regions with an aim of preaching peace.

Speaking in Nyandarua County on Thursday, governors Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru), Ferdinand Waititu (Kiambu) and Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua) announced that they had resolved to set aside their political differences.

Mr Kinyanjui stated that the 47 governors would work together in development, complementing each other and forming of economic blocks irrespective of their political affiliations.

The Nakuru Governor added that they would not allow themselves to repeat the mistakes of their predecessors.

“We are going to transverse the country preaching peace starting with Nyanza and Western regions," Kinyanjui stated.

“We need to move together as a country and no single county can make it on its own. We assure you that as governors we are united,” he added.

Last week, Jubilee Party and National Super Alliance (NASA) governors met with an aim to promote peace after the repeat presidential poll.

Kericho Governor, Prof Paul Chepkwony, met with his Kisumu counterpart Professor Anyang' Nyong’o in a bid to ease border tensions.

Nyong'o and Chepkwony held a meeting in order to push for peace and cohesion among the two communities who have been inter-dependent for a long time.

The two leaders pledged to ensure the safety of communities living in the two countries.
