Senator Discloses Jubilee's New Plan in Kisumu

Kisumu Senator Fred Outa on Friday revealed how the Jubilee Party plans to use state resources to portray Nyanza residents as averse to development.

Senator Outa accused Jubilee leadership of using public funds to belittle and portray Nyanza as extremely poor and less developed.

He made the remarks in reaction to the Nyanza Development Dialogue, an initiative by the Council of Professionals of Kenya (CPK), which took place at Laico Regency in Nairobi on Friday.

"The forum is aimed at demeaning the Nyanza people and leaders from the region," he noted.

He laid the blame on former Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba, who is the CPK Chair, the Jubilee Party Secretary-general Raphael Tuju and NCCK Chair Canon Peter Karanja.

He dismissed the three as rejects who have no economic or leadership authority to speak on behalf of the Nyanza residents.

"The conference is purported to talk about development in Nyanza as if it is the only region lagging behind in economic development," he conveyed.

He further accused a senior state official in the Interior ministry, whom he did not name, of funding the conference which he stated is not genuinely aimed at empowering citizens.

Ababu defected from ODM to Jubilee Party arguing that President Uhuru Kenyatta's party was keen on development for the Nyanza people.
