NASA Senator Defies Raila's Order

Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua on Sunday stated that the calls for a boycott on some products by the National Super Alliance (NASA) was like “shooting ourselves in the foot”.

Speaking during the homecoming of Mwingi Central MCA Mary Kanini, the Senator explained that it was wrong to punish innocent Kenyans in their strongholds.

“The bigwigs who were involved in the alleged election rigging and other malpractice should be dealt with, not the employees and other beneficiaries.

“There are so many NASA supporters who will end up jobless as well,” he stated.

He called upon his party leaders to examine the matter well as it was affecting most of their supporters and other innocent Kenyans.

“What will happen to them when they lose their jobs? Consider the tough economic times we live in," Wambua explained.

He also urged Opposition Leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta to engage in dialogue to bring an end to the stalemate in the country.

He made the remarks following an announcement by the Opposition where they called on their supporters to boycott some products and companies over claims that they engaged in electoral malpractice.

"We will resist the products of some companies because they are beneficiaries of the regime that killed people in this country," Suna East MP Junet Mohamed stated.

The leaders noted that they would start outreach programmes to tell their supporters about the boycott and alternatives.
