Businessman Brutally Killed After Abduction

A businessman who was abducted in Mombasa over the weekend has been found dead.

38-year-old Moiz Esmailjee Ebrahimjee's body was found dumped in a thicket in Bombolulu on Monday morning.

The deceased had a rope around his neck and his mouth was covered with a yellow polythene bag.

Witnesses at the scene of crime stated that Moiz had his hands tied and blood was oozing from the nose.

According to area residents, his hands had also been tied on the back with another rope.

Kisauni police chief Christopher Rotich stated that a manhunt had been launched for the killers.

“We have information that he was kidnapped on Mombasa Island. We have launched a hunt for the killers for them to face the law,” stated Mr Rotich.

It is reported that Mr Ebrahimjee was kidnapped at gunpoint early Saturday morning as he walked near Bohra Mosque in Old Town.

Sources revealed that the kidnappers demanded a Sh2 Million ransom and the family had sent Sh300,000.

Mombasa criminal investigations chief Jacob Kanake on Monday stated that they would track M-Pesa transactions to help get the kidnappers.

“We are going to investigate the M-Pesa transaction to help us get the kidnappers. They can run, but we will get them,” stated Mr Kanake.
