Police Officers Ferrying KCSE Exams Shot Dead 

Two Police officers and an examination official ferrying Kenya Certificate of Secondary (KCSE) examinations were on Tuesday shot dead by suspected bandits in Kapedo, Turkana county.

Inspector John Wabwire confirmed the incident, indicating that the vehicle was returning KCSE examination papers from Kapedo when the attack took place.

"Nine other officials were injured during the shootout that ensued at 5 pm," he stated.

Another statement released on the incident revealed that an officer was still missing following the attack.

"He was in the car which was attacked before other APs responded to their distress call," part of the letter read.

Ibrahim Sheikh, the Turkana East sub-county Director of Education, sustained several injuries during the raid.

The Police also noted that the driver of the vehicle, Amos Maina, was shot in the abdomen but managed to reach Lomelo AP camp.

The individuals who were injured were rushed to Lomelo Dispensary and are receiving treatment.

"Inspector Sammy Kamwara was seriously bruised on the face," the statement read in part.

Others who sustained injuries include Patrick Cherubet, Japheth Bosongo, James Mwangi, Benson Mbungua, George Omune and Kennedy Tirop.

The Police Report indicated that they had sustained serious injuries but were in stable condition.
