Voter Who Dared To Scold CJ Maraga In Public [VIDEO]

A Kenyan voter who moved to the Supreme Court seeking to have his application enjoined in the ongoing petition filed challenging the October 26 repeat presidential election decided to scold Chief Justice David Maraga.

Speaking at the apex court on Tuesday, Mr Kings Maina accused the judges of being unfair after they struck out his application.

Mr Maina also accused the judges of infringing on his rights as a voter. He further lamented that being the final court, it was unwarranted for them to deny him his quest for justice.

Mr Maina stated: “I am not just an applicant, I’m a voter and election of a president is about the rights of a voter we are at the final vote, you have denied me the right to be heard, you have denied me access to justice.”

A sad Mr Maina, questioned the court on where he should seek justice as a voter if the Supreme Court could not save him as a taxpayer in the country.

He further accused the Supreme Court of championing the abuse of his right. Mr Maina reminded CJ Maraga that he was not a busybody but a concerned citizen.

“You have taken me for granted, I pay taxes which run this court. Whom do I go to? This court is championing abuse of my right I am not a busybody,” Mr Maina complained.

He further accused the Deputy Registrar of locking him out when he wanted his application enjoined on September 1st and another judge sustained the order.

However, Chief Justice Maraga calmed Mr Maina down by telling him that the court did not have enough time to hear all applications filed.

“Mr Maina if we allow all the 19 million voters to file applications we would need two years, I don’t think the two years would be enough, we are sorry but that was our ruling,” CJ Maraga stated.
