How 'Chief Witness' Tricked Woman Into Marriage

'Expert eye-witness' Charles Karanja Ngengi was one of the most searched people on the internet recently due to his fishy appearances at accident scenes prior to his arrest last week.

According to his estranged wife, Ngengi conned her into marriage by convincing her that he worked with President Uhuru Kenyatta's security team.

Damaris Kinuthia told DCI investigators that she believed her husband interacted with the high and mighty on a daily basis.

She added that she saw several images of a man resembling her husband seated behind the Head of State and was completely convinced that Ngengi was a police officer.

"They were posted on his Facebook page, affirming my belief that my husband was a security officer," she was quoted by the Star.

She revealed that her husband would receive several calls from a number saved as H.E - His Excellency and would say he was talking to President Kenyatta.

Mrs Kinuthia flashed back to 1996 when he met her lover and revealed that Ngengi introduced himself as a military officer, promising to marry her and relocate to the city.

The mother of two admitted she could not resist his charm.

Mr Ngengi was arrested last week and police revealed that he was a habitual liar who was looking for cheap publicity.

During a chopper crash at Nakuru, the 'eye-witness' claimed that the deceased pilot was his 'good friend and colleague.'

He was also seen where the late Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru's car crashed last week.
