Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has issued a new directive to all politicians and Kenyans urging them to keep calm ahead of the Supreme Court ruling tomorrow.
Speaking at Nyabururu National School, CS Matiang'i urged Kenyans and their leaders to avoid any activities that may incite others into violence.
He explained that it was important to maintain peace during and after the Supreme Court ruling on the repeat presidential election.
"This is a peaceful country that should not go to the drain,” the CS was quoted by the Standard.

Speaking at a different event, Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome stated that measures were in place to ensure there is security as the Supreme Court prepares to deliver its ruling on Monday.
He explained that more police would be deployed for patrols within the city.
The County Police Commandant warned politicians against inciting their supporters into violence noting that firm action would be taken on all offenders.
He made the remarks following the murder of 4 people in Ruraka Nairobi.

Meanwhile, Ruaraka Member of Parliament Tom Kajwang has asked the police to conduct thorough speedy investigators and arrest assassins who killed 4 people in his constituency.
Speaking on Sunday from Kisumu, the MP also called on CS Matiang'i to take action regarding the murder.
"I want to grieve with our people and also to tell Matiang’i and the police to carefully handle this matter bearing in mind that ICC is watching," Kjang was quoted by the Standard.
