Leaked Audio Reveals People Inciting Tribal Violence in Muthurwa Market

An audio that leaked online on Monday revealed the group that has been instigating tribal violence at Muthurwa market in Nairobi.

In the audio, Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar, is heard questioning a man by the name of Ouma about the people fuelling violence at the market.

MP Jaguar was pleading with Mr Ouma, who he stated was a leader at the market, to reveal the people who were inciting others since they had worked and lived together in peace.

“I don’t want that incitement, you are an elder I respect you and you have worked together without tribalism, you elected me as your MP without looking at my ethnic background,” MP Jaguar stated.

“You are a leader there, you have worked with these people for many years despite your political affiliations where is this incitement coming from,” he added.

Mr Ouma told the legislator, that the people who were instigating others were not from the market but outsiders who had infiltrated the area.

“The people who were involved are not Luos from Muthurwa they came here to revenge the death of the people who were killed,” Mr Ouma revealed.

The legislator told Mr Ouma to have a sit down with fellow leaders at Muthurwa and country bus and advise the youth to shun violence.

Mr Ouma revealed that there was a man from his community who was inciting the violence but he had since gone missing.
