Three students who were sitting for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) from Isiolo Barracks Secondary School accosted and beat up a soldier.
The three students aged 20, 19 and 18 years, were booked at the Isiolo Police Station, assaulted the female officer who was manning the 78 battalions main gate.
Isiolo County Commissioner George Natembeya confirming the incident stated that the Form Four students were arrested on Friday night.
Mr Natembeya further alleged that the three KCSE candidates had tried to snatch the officer’s rifle before starting to hurl insults at her and causing mayhem at the gate.

The cause of the students’ behaviour is believed to be the officer’s involvement in arresting one of their colleagues who was involved in exam cheating.
Mr Natembeya affirmed that the students will be arraigned at Isiolo law court on Monday, November 27 to face the law.
The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination kicked off on Monday, November 6 under new, strict guidelines.
The Ministry of Education had stated apart from examination officials, candidates and security officers, only headteachers and their deputies would be allowed in school compounds.
Deputy county commissioners and sub-county directors of education were not allowed to open containers housing the examination materials before 6 a.m.
