1 Item NASA Supporters Have Been Told to Carry on Tuesday

National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters have been advised to carry their holy books to the rally in Embakasi on Tuesday.

Lawyer and former Nairobi Senatorial candidate Edwin Sifuna on Monday assured that police had been notified of the memorial and encouraged the supporters to carry their Bibles when attending.

"We have on behalf of NASA notified Soweto and Embakasi Police Stations with a copy to Mr. Koome of the memorial tomorrow. Attendees are encouraged to bring their Bibles," he tweeted.

A user observed that by calling for NASA supporters to carry Bibles, the Nairobi lawyer had eliminated other faiths from carrying their Holy books.

To this, Mr Sifuna responded: "Replace with your Holy Book as appropriate."

Earlier on Sunday, NASA warned the police against interfering with its Tuesday rally at Jacaranda grounds in Nairobi.

The coalition noted that if anything happened to any of the leaders or their supporters, the police should be held liable.

Kenyans.co.ke learned that the Opposition coalition on Saturday wrote to Embakasi police head notifying the agency of their planned rally.

In the letter written by Sifuna and Associates, the police were informed that the coalition was organizing a memorial service to be held on Tuesday.

“Our clients shall hold a memorial on November 28 for the innocent Kenyans who met their untimely deaths at the hands of the police and regime-sponsored killer gangs in the past few weeks,” the letter read in part.

However, Nairobi police commander Japheth Koome refuted claims that the NASA leadership had informed police of the planned memorial service.
