David Ndii Released [PHOTO]

 National Super Alliance (NASA) strategist David Ndii has been released after Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko issued the directive.

Through their social media account, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to free Dr Ndii on bond.

"DPP Keriako Tobiko has directed the DCI that David Ndii be released on police bond. Further, DPP has directed that once investigations are completed, the resultant inquiry file be forwarded to ODPP for appropriate directions," the office tweeted on Monday.

Dr Ndii was released on a Sh10,000 bond from Pangani police station.

On Monday, NASA leader Raila Odinga condemned the move by the police to arrest the coalition's Chief Strategist Dr Ndii.

He reiterated that Dr Ndii had not committed any crime and alleged that the government was trying to intimidate NASA members through blackmail and arrests.

“The people of Kenya will not be subjected to submission by this government. Their will shall not be suppressed through arrests, prosecutions, blackmail, intimidation, teargas, bullets and water-cannons,” Odinga affirmed.

According to Mr Odinga, Dr Ndii was “collected like a dog” while on holiday with his family.

Mr. Ndii was arrested on Sunday evening in Kwale County at Leopard Beach Hotel and was allegedly taken to Diani Police Station before being transported to Nairobi.

After the arrest, drama unfolded after members of the NASA's legal team were blocked from accessing the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Offices where the coalition's strategist was being detained.

Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo together with other NASA leaders had gone to Milimani Court Cells awaiting arraignment Of Dr Ndii on incitement charges.
