Appoint NASA Leaders to Your Cabinet - Uhuru Told

The Center for Multiparty Democracy (CMD) on Tuesday asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to appoint Opposition Leaders in the Cabinet to enhance healing and national cohesion.

According to the organisation, the country is ailing from a political problem which needs to be solved urgently so that Kenya moves forward.

CMD noted that inclusivity in government was key to bringing the country together after the divisive election.

The agency announced that it would initiate a national dialogue adding that in the next two weeks it will form a 7-member team to facilitate the talks.

“It is not possible to bring warring factions together unless you are seen to be non-partisan,” CMD Chairman Omingo Magara stated.

The committee is expected to bring together members of the civil society, legal and professional bodies and the workers' unions in the country.

The announcement comes even as President Uhuru Kenyatta announced that he is ready and willing to engage in dialogue that would lead to healing of the country.

Speaking last month during the launch of Thiba dam project President Kenyatta explained that time for politics was over adding that Opposition Leader Raila Odinga should work with the government to spur development in the country for the benefit of Kenyans.

Mr Odinga on his part, however, insists that he will only engage in dialogue aimed at creating a new election in 90 days.
