KTN Journalists Storm Governor Mandago's Office

Journalists on Friday stormed Uasin Gishu County Headquarters as they demanded the release of a KTN Cameraman who had been arrested by law enforcement officers after he took photos of them harassing Eldoret residents.

Gideon Kangogo's phone was also confiscated by the officers.

He pleaded with them to release him on grounds that he was just doing his job but the officers refused to hear him out.

Kangogo explained: “I was walking on Nandi Street and noticed the officers dragging a man and woman and forcing them into their van.

Suddenly, one of them pounced on me, and called his colleagues who dragged me into their van and drove me to the cells,” he continued.

He was detained for over an hour.

The officers maintained that he had obstructed them from doing their job.

Journalists convened and stormed the Resident Magistrate's Cells demanding his release.

Governor  Jackson Mandago was attending the Governors' Induction which was happening in Kwale.

He launched a bid to become the Council of Governors' (CoG) Chairperson but ended up withdrawing his candidature.
