36 People Injured in Nasty Accident

Thirty-six people were injured on Tuesday when a Mwingi-bound bus rolled at Kanginga area on its way from Nairobi.

Mwingi Central OCPD John Nyamu confirmed the incident stating that the accident may have been as a result of brake failure.

"The cause of the accident is yet to be established but there are allegations of brake failure," the OCPD told the Star.

The injured passengers were taken Mwingi Level Four Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, two brothers perished on Tuesday morning along the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu road after a motorbike they were traveling on was hit by a trailer. 

Reports indicate that the two were headed to Longonot when the accident occurred.

The area OCS noted that investigations had been launched to determine the cause of the accident.

Elsewhere, three people lost their lives and a couple others injured in two separate accidents in Machakos County on Monday night.

The first accident involved a motorcycle and a matatu where the rider and his passenger died.

In the other accident, a car lost control and drove into a ditch killing one person and injuring four.

The three accidents come just two day after 36 people perished along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.
