Why Kenyans Want Kabogo Back as Kiambu Governor

A section of Kenyans on Thursday regretted letting go of former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo after he advised banks on what to do to avoid making losses.

Mr Kabogo advised banks to renegotiate the loan repayment plans to ensure that more Kenyans service their loans.

He further argued that banks waiting to auction Kenyans' properties was futile since people had stopped purchasing from auctioneers.

This resonated with a lot of Kenyans online with most of them regretting the fact that he was not re-elected to office.

The post was shared more than 181 times on Facebook and got retweeted more than 800 times.

Kenyans narrated to the former county boss of their experiences and plight while dealing with loans and echoed his sentiments.

Others faulted Members of Parliament for the Rates Capping Bill which they passed arguing that it did not favour the common Mwananchi who was desperately seeking a loan.

Thank you Sir for the advise. You have spoken for the millions of silent Kenyans. GOD BLESS YOU

Mheshimiwa we miss your Authoritarian leadership that was mistaken with toughness. Everywhere in Kiambu its Kaba Kabogo

Additionally, his followers urged the vocal politician to stand with them and fight for Kenyans since he was “a good and brave leader that Kenya deserves”.

Mr Kabogo failed to clinch the nomination ticket from the Jubilee Party during the primaries.

He vied in the Kiambu gubernatorial race as an independent candidate during the August 8 general election but lost to the current governor Ferdinand Waititu, a loss which some regretted.
