Moses Kuria Admits to Lying During a Burial

Kenyan politicians are known for making 'empty' promises to the electorate during their campaigns just so to lure them to vote for them for the respective positions.

Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria, was recently recorded explaining an embarrassing moment when he lied to mourners in Nyamira during a burial he attended without invitation.

The ever-crafty MP left a gathering in Githunguri, including Deputy President William Ruto, in laughter and requested them to excuse him for speaking politics since the DP and President Uhuru Kenyatta have asked them to avoid politicking.

"Recently with your MP Kago wa Lydia, we went to Nyamira and found a gathering like this. We had no idea if it was a wedding or whatever. We just entered and thought we can actually ask for votes from those people," Kuria recalled.

According to him, the President and his deputy had given him a tough assignment of seeking for votes.

Kuria's admission of getting everything wrong about the deceased during his incident at Nyamira during the campaign period left all laughing.

The burial took place after the Supreme Court nullified President Kenyatta's August 8 win ordering a fresh election.

"So we entered and asked what's happening? We were told it's a burial ceremony. So the MC identified me and stated Hon Moses Kuria come and address these people.' I didn't even know who died," Mr Kuria narrated.

"I started saying,'the lady who has left us...'but the MC came and whispered 'it's a gentleman'. I said we had spoken last week and the MC again came and whispered that he just came back from abroad yesterday," the Jubilee fanatic expressed.

"I said the children he has left behind, we as the government will take care of them. The MC again corrected me that he was a priest. So you can see the tribulations we go through, it's because of this hard work you (President and his deputy) have assigned us," he stated.

The controversial MP told the gathering that whenever politicians speak politics, they should just bear with them.

Mr Kuria is known as one of the legislators who will always speak their minds and opinions.
