Gov Sonko Dragged Into Night Gun Drama [VIDEO]

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been implicated in forcing his way to a private property in Kikambala, Mtwapa, in the company of armed men who opened fire to scare the occupants.

The landlord of the seven-bedroomed home, Mr Joseph Lenguris, disclosed that Sonko organised the raid on Friday, January 12 at 2am.

Mr Lenguris stated that the flamboyant Governor dramatically stormed them with siren-blowing vehicles and immediately invaded the compound.

Speaking to NTV, Mr Lenguris revealed that Sonko's goons started shooting into the air indiscriminately forcing them to scamper for safety.

"He came at 2 am in the morning with the siren-blowing vehicles and they started shooting bullets in the air," he highlighted.

The landlord and his wife, Monica Hata, have allegedly been involved in a dispute with Sonko's cousin - Caroline Mwandiko - after she purchased the land in 2013.

According to papers that Mr Lenguris showed NTV, he accuses the Governor's cousin of failing to pay the full amount of Sh23 Million for the 3.5 acre of land and dishonoring the agreement they had.

He also claimed that they were forcefully ejected from the house by Sonko's family and have been living in shelters since then.

An eye-witness divulged that Sonko was sarcastically laughing in his car as his men opened fire on the fateful night.

Mtwapa OCPD, Joseph Kariuki, asserted that Mr Sonko was at the premises but denied any incident of shooting.

"The Governor was in that area because that is his relative. The relative is outside in Germany. His nephew had been denied access to the premises and that is why he was there. The incident you are talking about the shooting we are not aware of as there is no evidence," Mr Kariuki mentioned.

In his defense, Sonko told NTV that he had gone to the property to rescue his nephew who had been locked out of the house by armed men.
