The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on Wednesday announced the new cut off points for 2017 KCSE candidates who will join universities.
In a letter seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the institution's board stated that after considering the analysis of the 2017 KCSE examination results together with the maximum available capacities in Kenyan Universities, the new cut off point will be C+ of 46 points.
"All 2017 candidates who scored a minimum aggregate grade C+ of 46 points shall be eligible for placement to both public and private universities to pursue degree courses under government sponsorship.

"All candidates who scored a minimum grade of C- of 32 points shall be eligible for placement to pursue diploma courses offered in tertiary institutions," read the letter.
KUCCPS further stated that students will be given a chance to revise their choices between January 24, 2018 and February 1, 2018.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) on Wednesday announced that it had cancelled the results of 1,205 candidates who sat for the 2017 KCSE due to cheating.
KNEC Chairman Prof George Magoha stated that there were irregularities at nine examination centres where students colluded with teachers.
He, however, stated that all was not lost as the affected students would be given the opportunity to register before February 28 and sit for the exams this year.
"The affected students can register at the schools of their choice; private or public.

"Kenya's law is very flexible and the government will pay their registration fees," stated Magoha.
