Woman Who Made Uhuru Dance Taken Back to School

Bomet songstress Fancy Chepkorir, better known by her stage name Marion, is set to go back to school after MP Gideon Keter sponsored her education following her revelation that she dropped out of high school over 10 years ago and desired to go back.

The artist's second single, Kibendi Tai, was a popular song in the Rift Valley region during the gruelling 2017 election campaigns as it asked people to rally together and move forward.

At a rally in Bomet, Marion excited President Uhuru Kenyatta when she performed the song as he stood up and started dancing to it.

Others who danced along were Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohammed and Lands CS Jacob Kaimenyi.

Now, she is set to go back to get an education at the Isinya Adult Education Centre.

Mr Keter assured her that she would cater for her fees as well as all her personal expenses during her stay at the school.

Being a mother, Marion divulged that she had made arrangements for her children to be taken care of and further stated that she would be seeing them on weekends.

Marion took her savings from her previous business of selling eggs and decided to venture into music in hopes of a brighter future.

The second song she ever recorded, Kibendi Tai, ended up being a huge hit that catapulted her into fame.

She performed at various functions, rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the country.
