Raila Odinga Selects His Replacement in NASA

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga on Friday announced that Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will replace him as the coalition's flag-bearer.

Speaking on the 2022 presidential race, Mr Odinga assured Ukambani leaders and NASA supporters from the region that he will support Kalonzo's bid.

Mr Odinga issued the promise during the Ukambani people's forum held in Machakos shortly after Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana requested a statement on the Opposition's succession plan.

"We are here to speak about our victory that was stolen on August 8, 2017, but Professor (Kivutha Kibwana) has requested me to speak about 2022.

"Professor, please, we are still pursuing our gazelle that was stolen and we want to hunt it down and slaughter it for Kenyans to enjoy. The 2022 gazelle that is still in the bush will be captured by Kalonzo and we will back him to do so," Mr Odinga announced.

Excited members of the crowd handed the former Prime Minister a Bible and he proceeded to take a mock oath of office.

"Thank you for giving me the Bible, on January 30, I will hold it up and declare that 'I Raila Amolo Odinga, do solemnly swear I will protect the Constitution of Kenya with all my strength, so help me God'.

"That will happen whether they like it or not. Who is ready to come to Uhuru park on that day?" Mr Odinga charged the crowd.

He urged the NASA supporters to ignore any rumours that the co-principals had fallen out declaring that the coalition was strong as ever.

"Kalonzo, Raila and Wetangula will stand as one, we are not going anywhere," Odinga ascertained.
