The National Super Alliance (NASA) on Sunday announced that it will back four Jubilee legislators in a vote of no confidence against them on Tuesday.
Through the Minority Leader in the National Assembly John Mbadi, the coalition announced that it will oppose a move to remove four legislators from various committee leadership positions to safeguard the independence of parliament.
Mbadi noted that all NASA MPs in the affected committees will attend the Tuesday session and support the four legislators.

According to the vocal legislator, NASA was only defending the MPs to protect the independence of the Legislature and not interfering with Jubilee fights.
"There is no reason to have a vote of no confidence against the members because the president and his deputy don’t want them to lead the committees. It is a joke on the independence of parliament and we will defend the institution.
“Despite our numerical disadvantage, we will not just sit there and see Parliament captured by the executive. We want to be on the right side of history. You can give party position but you cannot dictate how members should vote,” The Nation quoted Mbadi.
In the National Assembly, a committee is made up of 19 members with Jubilee having 12 whereas NASA has 7 slots.
The four legislators; Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Silas Tiren (Moiben), Alex Kosgey (Emgwen) and David Bowen were elected to various committee leadership positions contrary to Jubilee's plan.
The Party leadership requested the legislators to resign but they did not forcing the President to summon Jubilee MPs to State House after which the lawmakers wrote the Speaker of Parliament requesting for a new election in the Labor committee.

According to the party, the four ought to resign to allow for inclusivity in the sharing of the positions.
