Babu Owino to Expose Scandals of Police Boss

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Wednesday stated that he has damning evidence against Nairobi DCI Chief Nicholas Kamwende.

Babu stated that the police boss was hunting him down by linking him to malicious cases.

"DCI Kamwende is on a fishing expedition looking for malicious cases to put on me.

"I know all your scandals and will expose you," wrote the legislator on his Facebook page.

On Sunday, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP disclosed via social media that the officers raided his house early morning harassing his wife and child.

He was arrested last week and questioned over a recent incident in Westlands where he allegedly assaulted a parking attendant.

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, however, rescued him from police cells where he spent two nights.

Senator Sakaja made a personal undertaking of Sh104,000 and a surety to produce the legislator in court on Monday, January 22 at 8 am, after which the police released the vocal MP.

“No political leader should be arrested unlawfully because of his political party be it NASA or Jubilee,” Sakaja was quoted by Citizen Digital.

The Senator condemned the way the MP was arrested and noted that the police should have invited the former student leader for questioning.

Sakaja's move did not go down well with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, who lamented that the Senator never visited him when he was arrested.

"I look forward to the day my friend Sen Johnson Sakaja will come to visit me in the cell. Do not even secure my release. Just bring me a bowl of porridge.

"Sulking is human, isn't it? After all, we have worked together for over a decade now," wrote Kuria on Sunday.
