NASA Announces Last Activity Before Swearing-in

National Super Alliance (NASA) on Tuesday announced the last major activity they would perform before the inauguration of leader Raila Odinga as the People's President on January 30.

The team noted that they would hold the pre-inauguration of Mr Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as People's President and Deputy in Homa Bay on Saturday following recent People's Assembly meetings in Mombasa and Machakos.

The People's Assembly organizing committee insists that the swearing of the two will take place at Uhuru Park on Tuesday as planned.

The committee chaired by David Ndii stated that the oath would go on despite the Nairobi county administration's closure of the park for renovation.

He claimed that NASA had booked the venue and hence will use it for the inauguration.

"We have a constitutional right to assembly. We are not going to allow this right we have been fighting for to be undermined," he said on Thursday.

Mr Ndii, however refused to disclose the name of the judicial officer to swear in the two NASA leaders.

Meanwhile, NASA CEO Norman Magaya, disclosed three details on the planned swearing-in of Raila Odinga as the People's president.

In an exclusive interview with Citizen Digital, Mr Magaya stated that the opposition leader would take the oath of office administered by a qualified judge.

"Tuesday will be a historic day that will end bad governance in this country. I can guarantee you that it will be a smooth process.

"We are finalizing plans for the inauguration. We are expecting some dignitaries who have already confirmed their attendance. The ones who will not be able to attend the event have sent their congratulatory messages,” he stated.
