Responding to a question as to whether she would venture into politics considering the fact that her father (Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o) was a strong politician in Kenya, the 12 Years a Slave actress revealed that she was very emotional a quality that does not work well in politics.

"I don’t know. I had to share my father with politics for so long. I am very emotional about politics in a way that makes it hard for me to articulate things in a rational fashion,” Lupita explained.

As to whether she plans on starting a family, Lupita divulged: "I feel I was born to be a mother. (I would love to raise my kids) somewhere where there’s grass. Because I want my kids to be able to run around and discover things with their feet and their hands. I still love climbing trees. There are no trees to climb here."

Addressing the changes that happened to her after winning the Oscars, Ms Nyongo stated that she had to relocate and get a new place immediately after emerging victorious.

"I lived in a very insecure neighborhood. I needed to move really quickly," she noted.

Meanwhile, the actress is set to publish her debut children's book 'Sulwe' with Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers.

'Sulwe', which means 'star' in Lupita’s native language, Luo, is a story of a 5-year-old girl growing up in Kenya.

In the book, Sulwe has the darkest skin color in her family, a fact that makes her uncomfortable and determined to find a way to lighten her skin.
