How to Watch Citizen, NTV, KTN After Shutdown

On Tuesday, Citizen, NTV, and KTNNews Channels were switched off on major platforms Multichoice (DSTV and GoTV) and all free-to-air platforms.

The stations had been transmitting live coverage of National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters at Uhuru Park and other locations since morning.

A statement from Royal Media Services (RMS) Managing Director Wachira Waruru confirmed the move, noting that the CA had shut down Inooro TV as well.

"We would like to confirm that this morning the CA disconnected Citizen and Inooro TV transmission.

"There has been no official communication as to why this action was taken and we are actively engaging the relevant authorities," the statement read in part.

Following the shutdown, Kenyans on various social media platforms expressed their anger towards the government actions.

The channels are however accessible on Kenya's largest web portal, Kenyamoja.com, where you can stream the day's events without disruption.

Meanwhile, Suba South MP John Mbadi has explained why the original programme for National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga's swearing-in has been delayed.

Speaking at a packed Uhuru Park on Tuesday, Mbadi stated that there had been fears in the morning over the police presence which kept some supporters away, but this had since changed after the officers withdrew from the park.

Mbadi went on to give an updated schedule, in which the programme kicks off at midday.
