Kalonzo Skips NASA's Swearing-in Ceremony

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday missed out on the National Super Alliance (NASA) inauguration.

Addressing NASA supporters at Uhuru Park Opposition Leader Raila Odinga stated that he will take the oath later.

He, however, explained that Kalonzo, Senator Moses Wetangula, and Amani National Congress Leader Musalia Mudavadi were still in NASA.

“Kalonzo Musyoka is not here with us. But he is together with us in this. He will be sworn in later. You will hear more from us,” Odinga explained.

The former Prime Minister further noted that the coalition will communicate more details regarding the three later.

He applauded the supporters for showing up in large numbers adding that being united was the key to achieving their goals.

"I thank the people of Kenya for showing the rest of the world that a people united shall never be defeated," he stated.

During the event, Odinga was sworn in as the 'People's President' where he vowed to protect and defend the constitution.

The oath was administered by Lawyers; Miguna Miguna and Tom Kajwang.

"I Raila Amolo Odinga in full realisation of the high calling assume the office of the People's President of the Republic of Kenya do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the People and the Republic of Kenya.

"That I will preserve, protect and defend the constitution of Kenya as by law established and all other laws of the republic as adopted by the people of Kenya.

"That I will protect uphold sovereignty, integrity, and dignity of the people of Kenya so help me God," Odinga stated.
