KDF Soldier in Lang'ata Demands Sh5 Million After Kidnapping Boy

A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier was among three suspects arrested on Tuesday in connection with the kidnapping of a boy in Lang'ata, Nairobi.

The trio is suspected to have kidnapped the boy and demanded Sh5 Million ransom to secure his release.

Their plan, however, fell apart when police managed to track them to their den after the boy's parents informed them of the kidnapping.

Officers who took part in the Tuesday night operation disclosed that they found some of the suspects drunk.

The alleged kidnappers were taken to a nearby police station for interrogation, with reports indicating that they could be part of a larger ring.

They are expected to remain in police custody until they are charged.

The boy has since been reunited with his parents.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, police found and arrested a woman accused of stealing a two-week-old baby from his parents at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

The woman, only identified as Edna, had been caught on CCTV cameras walking out of the hospital with the baby named Prince Leo.

A neighbour of the suspect in Kawangware spotted her in the Congo 56 area and informed the relevant authorities.
