NASA Drops Gladys Wanga From Parliamentary Service Commission

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has dropped Homa Bay legislator Gladys Wanga from the Parliamentary Service Commission.

In a motion debated in Parliament on Thursday, NASA picked Vihiga Senator George Khaniri and Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa to join Borabu MP Ben Momanyi in the PSC.

During the nomination debate, House Leader of Majority Aden Duale cautioned the opposition lawmakers who were nominated to the PSC against bringing party politics to the committee.

"You better work with us or else we will form a tribunal and ask the President to send you home," Duale stated.

NASA-Jubilee wars played out in the House on Wednesday as MPs engaged in a heated debate over nominees to the Parliamentary Service Commission.

The opposition had substituted Khaniri’s name with Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo’s, but the decision backfired.

Duale moved a notice of motion to approve the seven PSC nominees which included Momanyi’s name and not Mutula’s.

This move sparked protests from Minority Leader John Mbadi who stated that NASA had submitted the names of Kilonzo, Wanga and Jumwa as nominees to the PSC adding that Momanyi’s name was not on the list NASA forwarded.

However, Duale maintained that Wiper, as a parliamentary party, qualified for a slot at the PSC and vowed that Momanyi’s name will be on the floor for voting.
