How ODM Will Ditch Kalonzo Musyoka - NASA MP Reveals

National Super Alliance (NASA) MP Daniel Maanzo has revealed that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is planning to ditch Wiper Party Kalonzo Musyoka by collaborating with Deputy President William Ruto in the run-up to the 2022 elections.

The Makueni legislator accused ODM of sidelining affiliate parties causing disunity in the coalition.

He added that the only person who was benefitting from the discord in the coalition was DP Ruto.

“ODM’s brigade has used every effort to split NASA. This is a strategy for them to run away from obeying the NASA agreement which stipulates that Kalonzo will be the coalition’s flag-bearer. ODM is also angling to work with Ruto in his bid for the Presidency in 2022.

“We need to be told if they are being instructed by Raila to do so, if they are doing this for their personal gain, or if they are working secretly for Jubilee to rock NASA. Once we establish their master, we will act appropriately,” Maanzo stated.

He added that Wiper party was wary of swearing in Kalonzo adding that the NASA principal would take the oath after justifying it as a positive step for his bid for the presidency.

“Swearing in Kalonzo is a serious matter that is being handled by the principals. You can’t force someone to take an oath. We are trying to get a patriotic judge to administer the oath. The principals know that none of them can make it alone. Those dividing NASA are keen on enslaving Kenya for decades to come.

“I would encourage any person in the coalition to help rebuild the coalition instead of crucifying the others. Raila did well to be sworn in as 'people’s president’ but others should not be vilified. We must push for electoral reforms,” he explained.

Earlier on, Kalonzo convened a meeting with delegates next month to decide whether they will stay in NASA.

The March 16 summit in Nairobi’s is meant to audit the party's position in the coalition and consider options after the disputed 2017 polls.

Officials allege that members of ODM party bully their counterparts and Wiper also believes it got an unfair deal in the alliance after losing a number of leadership slots in Parliament.
