The Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on Monday witnessed destructive demonstrations that left a number of motorists stranded on the highway with deflated tyres.

Protesters blocked the highway at Rironi, Limuru, calling for the arrest of Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu in connection with the burning of a lorry ferrying charcoal in her county.

High Court/ Miguna Miguna

Lawyer Miguna Miguna on Monday trended after High Court Judge Chacha Mwita ordered the Ministry of Interior and the Department of Immigration to facilitate his return to Kenya.

Miguna, who was deported to Canada on claims that he is not a Kenyan citizen, was directed to use his Canadian passport to return should the Kenyan authorities fail to issue him with fresh documents.

The Judge gave nine directives in the matter urging Miguna and his fellow petitioners to accelerate the progression of the case.

World Cup

The World Cup trended on Monday after the coveted trophy landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Kenya, for its Coca-Cola World Tour.

 Sports CS Rashid Achesa, Youth & Gender Affairs CS Margaret Kobia and Tourism CS Najib Balala received and unveiled the trophy at the airport before it was transported to State House where President Uhuru Kenyatta would have the rare chance to touch it.
