The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has moved to close part of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) following suspicious and illegal activities at the facility.
In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Corporate Communications Manager Angela Tilitei outlined that the Jetways Aviation section was under investigation after several complaints were raised regarding the section.
"It has come to the notice of Security Services at JKIA that allegations of illegal and irregular activities are ongoing in premises operated by Jetways Aviation at JKIA," the statement read in part.
The Communications Manager went on to outline that members of the public will not be allowed to access the area until the investigations are completed.

"On the basis of these serious allegations, KAA has temporarily closed airside access to the Jetways facility, to allow the security agencies to further investigate," the statement outlined.
The aviation company indicted in the claims offers clients both commercial and luxury charter services from JKIA to other airports.
It is a registered and fully licensed company whose base is said to be at the Wilson Airport.
The KAA statement did not disclose the specific activities that had led to the restrictive action.
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on February 21 seized Sh100 Million in gold bars from a Tanzanian national who is said to have been ferrying them to Dubai.
"The suspect was seized following intelligence alert. He had arrived at JKIA at 1505hrs on Friday, February 16, on board Precision Airlines from Mwanza via Kilimanjaro and was heading to Dubai aboard Kenya Airways," the KRA statement outlined.
