Martha Karua Explains Why Uhuru Should Apologise to Kenyans

NARC-Kenya leader Martha Karua has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to apologize to the victims of the 2017 electoral injustices.

Speaking to KTN News, the former Kirinyaga gubernatorial candidate, stated that the Head of State owes Kenyans who have been on the receiving end of police brutality an apology.

"Can an apology be forthcoming from the President. Not because he is the one who violated their rights but because he is the one holding the office," noted Karua.

The former Kirinyaga gubernatorial candidate also called on the President to implement the Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commision Report.

Karua claimed that by the implementation of the report, Mr Kenyatta will help the country achieve cohesion.

She also urged the President to let the issues of reparations for those whose rights have been violated by the state be effected.

"If I recall, the President set aside Sh10 Billion for reparations. Can we now see that money starting to work," asked Karua.

The lawyer also addressed that the government should holistically deal with the issues of land.

She advocated for the President to ensure that the law is fully respected so that all Kenyans can understand that there is no parity when obeying the constitution regardless of the concerned party.

Karua applauded Kenyatta for going after those who allegedly grabbed land belonging to the National Youth Service (NYS).
