Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter Speaks After His Election was Nullified

Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter addressed his supporters in Eldoret town after the High Court nullified his election on Thursday morning.

During the address, he asked his energetic supporters to stay calm, noting that he was not surprised as he was being fought by powerful forces.

Keter stated: "I am not surprised even a bit. I expected. I'm being fought in a bigger war than you understand."

The large crowd of supporters that had gathered chanted anti-Deputy President William Ruto slogans as Keter spoke from atop a vehicle.

"No Keter No Ruto!..Yote yawezekana bila Ruto (Everything is possible without Ruto)!" the crowd chanted.

The controversial lawmaker, who has crossed paths with President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto a number of times, stated that his woes emanated from exposing corruption scandals.

"I am being targeted for fighting corruption, they are even grabbing tea plantations in Nandi Hills...Keter is being fought for fighting corruption in Kenya," he declared.

The controversial legislator also alluded to his recent removal as Chairman of the Labour committee in Parliament.

He affirmed that some powerful individuals were afraid as he would have access to details on the expenditure of various parastatals.

Finally, Keter affirmed that he would consult his legal team and announce the way forward.
