We'll Ditch Mudavadi if He Abandons Raila - MP Godfrey Osotsi Warns

Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has stated that if Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi moves to another political outfit or coalition, he will ditch him (Mudavadi) and stay with the Raila Odinga-led National Super Alliance (NASA).

Osotsi, a former ANC Secretary-General, maintained that he and Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala were only voicing their constituents' concerns by demanding answers on the no-show by Mudavadi at the January 30 swearing-in of Odinga as the People's President at Uhuru Park.

“We are not disrespecting anyone, what we are asking is where was Mudavadi and Wetang’ula during the swearing-in of Odinga?” Osotsi posed.

Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM-K) leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Ford-K counterpart Moses Wetangula were also conspicously absent from the ceremony.

Osotsi further dismissed calls for ANC to focus on the 2022 election, noting that it was pointless with flawed electoral processes.

He stated: “You can’t force us to start thinking of 2022 when issues surrounding electoral process have not been resolved.”

Osotsi and Malala had been branded rebels by the ANC leadership and ordered to tow the party line.

The party, however, backtracked on an initial announcement that the leaders would face a disciplinary tribunal.

On Tuesday, ANC officials announced that they would call for mass demonstrations in Kakamega to demand that Mudavadi take action on the duo.

"Osotsi is in parliament courtesy of Mudavadi so it's surprising that he has turned around to bite the hand that fed him," stated Billion Ebole, who wanted the two leaders expelled from the party for allegedly disrespecting Mudavadi.
