Environment & Forestry Cabinet Secretary (CS) Keriako Tobiko on Wednesday announced that his ministry was planning to institute a national tree-planting day sometime in April.

On the official Environment Ministry Twitter handle, the CS shared photos of himself along with other officials planting trees to launch the tree-planting season.

"We plan to have a day set aside for National Tree Planting season sometime in April depending on the availability of rain," the tweet read.

CS Tobiko had toured Ngong Forest when he made the remarks and trended under the topic "CS Keriako Tobiko" as media houses as well as other verified accounts discussed the tweet.
