Moses Wetangula Explains How NASA Leaders Will Deal With Raila Odinga

National Super Alliance (NASA) Co-Principal, Moses Wetangula, on Friday explained how he and his colleagues from the Opposition will deal with Raila Odinga following his meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta at Harambee house yesterday.

Speaking in Bungoma, the Ford-Kenya Party leader divulged that the NASA leaders will seek an explanation from Mr Odinga as to why he chose to meet the Jubilee Party leader without consulting them.

“My colleagues and I from NASA will get an explanation from Raila on why he took the step he took; and why he had a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta without our knowledge.

“I, as Wetangula and the leader of Ford Kenya and Senate Minority Leader, was not in the know," he was quoted by Citizen.

Nonetheless, the Bungoma Senator lauded the former Prime Minister for reconciling with the President terming it as a bold move that will quell the protracted tensions in the country.

“We have all been demanding that we want the two sides to cross the river. This will lower the temperature of politics in the country, and embrace dialogue as a process and means of resolving our differences in Kenya,” he stated.

Mr Wetangula further pointed out that both NASA and Jubilee should focus on the same agenda for meaningful progress to be made in the country.

“I want to state that all along we have been demanding for dialogue between NASA and Jubilee. I have been saying we need a national conversation on the challenges facing this country,” Wetangula asserted.

Moments after the unexpected meeting between President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga, NASA Co-Principals released a joint statement acknowledging that they were not privy to the talks between the two at Harambee House.

They indicated that they had scheduled a retreat on Monday, March 12 when they will deliberate on the political developments.
