National Super Alliance (NASA) Co-Principal, Musalia Mudavadi, on Saturday revealed the possible trick that could have been used to instigate the unexpected meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking in Mombasa County, Mudavadi highlighted that the reconciliation could have been a publicity stunt meant to hoodwink Kenyans ahead of the visit by the United States US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
"One hopes that it wasn't a PR prank mean to hoodwink Kenyans in anticipation of the visit by the US Secretary of State," he stated.
The Amani National Congress (ANC) leader further clarified that the reconciliation did not represent the national dialogue the Opposition had been advocating for.

"It was not processed through the NASA structure. Indeed, nowhere does the MOU allude to or mention NASA," he added.
According to Mudavadi, the meeting between Odinga and Kenyatta was exclusively a personal affair that did not represent the interest of Kenyans.
"It is not possible to gloss over issues of electoral justice by simply accepting to move on, on the basis of a gentleman's agreement," he noted.
He, however, noted that the Opposition is open to a national dialogue with the Jubilee Party.
"Time and time again, NASA has called upon Jubilee for a sit down to address issues affecting Kenyans under the compass of electoral justice," he asserted.
The ANC leader also expressed his frustration on the Jubilee Party's invitation of NASA into a dialogue of development.
"We find such invitation cynical, insulting and underwritten by the impetus to accept justice and move on," Mudavadi noted.
