Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria Calls for Structural Reform of the Executive

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Saturday recommended that after meeting, NASA leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta should work on restructuring the executive to be more inclusive.

Taking to his social media, the Jubilee legislator stated that by addressing the matters around the presidency, they would ease the hostility created after the August elections.

"The most immediate benefit of the detente between President Kenyatta and Hon Odinga is that we can now sit down and agree on the constitutional and legal changes to fix some of our most malignant problems.

"The topmost issue is structural reform of the executive to achieve inclusion. The current structure makes some people feel they have no hope of being a central cog in government. I have advocated here before that this needs to change. It is untenable," he stated.

He added that now was the time for bipartisanship to flourish so as to come up with a solution to the electoral issues in the country.

Kuria called for cooperation between NASA leaders Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula and Jubilee's Deputy President William Ruto.

He concluded: "45 Million Kenyans should join in this endeavour as this will ensure that 2022 is just another election not a matter of life and death."

Echoing his sentiments, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua urged for the inclusion of all Kenyans in the National Agenda

"Uhuru and Raila are courageous and I urge them not to be derailed by a few known fence sitters. This “new beginning” is about all Kenyans and development and not using tribal cocoons to bargain for positions. Kenyans First!" he tweeted on Saturday.

Similarly, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi declared that KANU would offer its unconditional support to efforts aimed at bringing on board all Kenyans despite their political inclinations

"National unity is crucial in leading the nation towards its progress and prosperity by strengthening it and promoting peace and love in the country. Where people are united, they can pull together in nation building," he stated.
