I will stop Uhuru-Raila Talks if This Happens - ODM MP Jared Okello

Nyando Member of Parliament, Jared Okello, has warned that he will personally make efforts to ensure the deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga does not come to fruition unless Raila reveals the nitty-gritty of their deal.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP stated that it was wrong for the party leader not to disclose the details of their meeting.

According to Okello, the deal was drawing speculations from Kenyans hence the need for the leaders to come out clean.

The MP further urged the two leaders to ensure that electoral justice is at the heart of their dialogue as it is a long-standing aspiration of the citizens.

Okello indicated that the dialogue must also ensure that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) gets disbanded before the next general election.

Similar concerns had been raised by the ODM deputy party leader, Governor Hassan Joho, who urged the Jubilee side to ensure openness and sincerity in their engagement.

"As we come with a clean heart and open hands, please remember, an open hand cannot shake a clenched fist," Joho stated.

Speaking at Makadara Friends Church on Sunday, Makadara MP George Aladwa said that the deal did not mark the end of their fight for a better Kenya and they would continue pressing for reforms.

Addressing a presser after the historic meeting at Harambee House, Raila indicated that a time had come for Kenya to make a new beginning towards attaining justice, peace, liberty, unity and prosperity for all.

Raila had further expressed that it was time to reflect, confront and resolve the differences brought by the Kenyan diversity and impede the efforts towards attaining nationhood.
