Boni Khalwale Dares Raila to Dump Wetangula

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has dared NASA leader Raila Odinga to dump Senate Minority leader Moses Wetangula.

Through a tweet, the vocal politician stated that the move to remove Wetangula would embarrass the Luhya community.

"Our dear @TheODMparty, NASA partners, in good faith we mobilized 95% of our people to vote for @RailaOdinga on 8/8/17. Were u expecting us to break into Statehouse to install him?

"You now want to embarrass @Wetangulam & by extension the Baluhyia? GO AHEAD & REMOVE HIM," he wrote on his Twitter handle.

His statement comes on the day when Senators allied to ODM are set to convene a meeting to choose a new Senate minority leader.

Last week, Khalwale warned of dire consequences if Wetangula is removed, noting that it would have a significant effect on the Western region as a voting bloc.

"Raila's meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta showed us that ODM was reneging on NASA's presidential agreement that it would not field a candidate in 2022.

"Wetangula is not the leader of minority of ODM. He is the leader of minority of NASA.

"The attempted move by ODM senators to oust him was wrong. This basically shifts the balance of support (for Odinga) in western to ANC and Ford Kenya," he remarked during an interview with Kenyans.co.ke.

Earlier on Tuesday, the former senator further reiterated that the Head of State will benefit most from the Harambee House pact.

"President Uhuru is dying of laughter because he didn't think it would be this nice," he stated during a morning show on NTV.
