Musalia Mudavadi Speaks on Removal of Moses Wetangula as Senate Minority Leader

ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi on Tuesday rallied support for ousted Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetangula.

Speaking after the removal of the Bungoma Senator, Mudavadi described the latest move by ODM senators as a tragic mischief.

“The latest manifestation was a move to embarrass Moses Wetangula by some people who have decided to dethrone him.

"The Opposition cannot accept to go into a coalition or be part of a common government with Jubilee Party. The Opposition must accept to operate outside government especially when holding a dialogue on reforms," remarked Mudavadi.

He further added that they would hold the government and its 'new partners' to account, sentiments that were echoed by Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu.

"The party will now live up to its constitutionally mandated role to hold the government and its new partners to account on behalf of the Kenyan people.

"If need be, we will remain alone as the Opposition as everyone else goes in government," added the ANC party leader.

He further sought to rest fears that NASA was on the verge of collapse, adding that the coalition’s fate cannot be determined by an individual.

Wetangula was removed as Senate minority leader following a meeting by ODM senators.

He had survived an ouster motion last week after Speaker Ken Lusaka temporarily suspended the action, ruling that he needed official communication from the NASA coalition’s chief executive officer.

The Ford Kenya leader is set to be replaced by Siaya Senator James Orengo who will be deputised by his Kakamega counterpart Cleophas Malala.
