Kenyan athletes preparing for the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday threatened to boycott training if their allowances are not paid in good time.
The infuriated athletes also demanded to be given full training kits as it emerged that they were given incomplete ones.
The athletes had been issued with backpacks, caps and ceremonial suits but they refused to sign up for the items, leaving the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) officials with no option but to pack-up the items and head away.
They were set to meet Sports CS Rashid Achesa on Wednesday but after waiting for two hours, the CS failed to show up.

The Nation reported that Achesa was to visit the athletics and triathlon teams that were putting up at Milele Hotel, then check on the table tennis team at Visa Oshwal before proceeding to Kenya Commercial Bank, Karen where Kenya Sevens and Kenya Lioness are camping.
Apparently, the CS was summoned to State House for an urgent meeting thus could not make it in good time to meet the athletes.
NOCK president Paul Tergat had promised that all the allowances and the remaining kits would be settled by Wednesday this week but nothing was forthcoming.
"We could not sign for kits that were not complete. We were told they will settle everything including the allowances but nothing has come," divulged an athlete who spoke on behalf of the team.
Tergat, however, assured the athletes that all kits would be delivered by Wednesday evening.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games will take place between April 4 and 15 in Gold Coast, Australia.
In 2016, bales of Nike kit were recovered from the residence of former NOCK vice-chairman Ben Ekumbo.
The uniforms were meant to be given to Kenya's team that participated in the Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
Ekumbo was later arrested after the operation at his Westlands apartment by a team of detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
