ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna Sends Warning to Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna on Monday warned Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi against attacking ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

Mr Sifuna asserted that the Orange party would not lay back and watch the two castigate their leader when they could not explain why they missed the January 30 mock swearing-in.

He further added that the former Prime Minister had no involvement in the demotion of Wetangula at the Senate.

"The problem Mr Wetangula has is personal and not the creation of ODM.

"He should blame himself for failing to deliver as a leader of the minority in the Senate and stop dragging ODM into his woes," Sifuna stated.

ODM National Treasurer Timothy Bosire reiterated the sentiments adding that the Bungoma Senator has a vendetta against the ODM party leader.

"It is cheap politics to link Mr Odinga to his ouster. Mr Odinga is not a senator and therefore he does not have a vote in the Senate.

"They must know that politics is no idle business," Bosire advised.

ODM Secretary of Political Affairs Opiyo Wandayi joined with the top ODM leadership adding that the handshake between Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta had nothing to do with Senate matters.

The party's deputy leader, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, further denied allegations that the party had formed a coalition with the ruling Jubilee party.

On Saturday, the Bungoma Senator announced plans to regroup with "outsider" co-principals to exert revenge on the ODM chief.

"We have regrouped to teach you a lesson. Despite us fighting relentlessly and some people losing their lives, the subsequent conduct of our presidential candidate is not only shocking but a betrayal of the highest order.

"Let him (Raila) keep off NASA affairs and concentrate on his new relationship with Jubilee, we are ready to move forward," Wetangula stated.
