Salim Lone Reveals What Raila Lost After Handshake With Uhuru

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga's adviser Salim Lone has revealed what the Opposition supremo lost after the historic handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Posting on his Facebook page, Salim noted that Mr Odinga lost a huge number of his following after his agreement deal with the Head of State on March 9.

"Signing the pact, he knew he could lose a huge chunk of his impassioned base which was convinced that only confronting this regime offered the prospect of national salvation.

"How many politicians in the world would risk such a loss?" exclaimed Salim.

Salim further stated that despite Raila taking a giant step for a much better Kenya through the signing of the unity pact, Uhuru's administration has disregarded the agreement.

The adviser also stated that Raila chose to put aside all personal ambition as well as the trauma and pain inflicted by having been denied the presidency he had allegedly won three times in a row, for the sake of national healing and reconciliation.

Speaking on the mistreatment of the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna, Salim strongly condemned the government's hand in the act.

He added: "Its latest outrage of scorning multiple court orders explicitly instructing it to restore Miguna's nationality and facilitating his re-entry home, and then treating him abusively in full view of the world's cameras, shows Jubilee is incorrigibly dedicated to pursuing impunity, and cannot be trusted."

The High Court on Tuesday ordered the Immigration Department to release the outspoken lawyer who has been detained at JKIA since on Monday.

Miguna was to be availed to the court on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. but he was not present for the hearing.
