Video of Police Assaulting Civilian Angers Kenyans

A video showing an unidentified Kenya Police officer brutally attacking unarmed man has angered Kenyans.

The incident that allegedly took place along Londiani road off Likoni Rd, Industrial Area shows the police officer stepping on the victim's neck who is lying helplessly.

The officer is seen pointing a pistol at the man while another one, wearing civilian clothes, stands by with a police swagger stick in his hands.

Passers-by appear shocked by the actions given the fact that despite the victim showing no signs of resistance, the officer continues stepping on the man's head and back.

Reports reaching Kenyans.co.ke indicate that the Police Director of Communications Charles Owino has already swang into action vowing that stern measures will be taken once the authenticity of the video is proved.

Here is the video:

Kenyans were angered by the brutality displayed with some indicating that such behaviour makes it hard for the public to support police in delivering their duties.

Others accused senior officials in the government of propelling the behaviour by allegedly failing to obey the law and court orders.

The police was cursed from when they killed Jesus, they can do anything...U know..but payment comes also brutally

This is wrong! We don't know what the guy had done, but this is no way for a police officer to treat anyone

— David Njoroge (@njoroge_dm) April 5, 2018

The way he is insisting "enda chini" how far chini can this guy go surely. He could just handcuff him and wait to be picked for whatever 'investigation' is needed on him

— martha lusweti (@marthalusweti) April 6, 2018

This is totally.. Unwarranted.. Take one to custody...he is still human..damn it.. The police is very rogue... He should be punished by jehovah

— Washington mboya (@Washingtonmboy2) April 5, 2018

Next time, police shd recruit basing on brain power, not dental formula.

— CPA Kipkemoi (@CPAkipkemoi) April 6, 2018

Kenyans should have intervened and stoned that police officer to death.. He is the criminal.

— Frank Ndege (@itsndege) April 6, 2018

This is really wrong in every aspect. @NPSOfficial_KE @PoliceKE need to be reprimanded from excessive use of force and such like inhuman behaviour. @JBoinnet this policeman should be dismissed effective immediately.

— O B S E R V E R (@KeenObserver_) April 6, 2018

Scariest thing is.. it can happen to anyone! Just refuse to bribe the cop or cite the law in your defence, or worse, expose a cop's ignorance of the law...

— A (@juliville254) April 6, 2018

this is criminal and the thug police should be already in cells. we can not allow rogue people pretending to serve the public carry out extrajudicial torture and killings

— Edwin Nyongesa (@EdwinNyongesa3) April 6, 2018

The one who killed baby Pendo for legitimacy is still a free man.
