MP William Kamket Reveals Details of Raila, Moi Deal

Tiaty MP William Kamket, who was present during NASA leader Raila Odinga's visit to former President Daniel Moi, has revealed that the meeting focused on having Baringo Senator Gideon Moi clinch the presidency come 2022.

Speaking on Sunday, Kamket further indicated that plans were underway to have KANU party, where Gideon serves as the Chairman, forge alliances with leaders from other counties.

"Tumeanza safari ya kurudisha ile ng'ombe ilikua na Mzee Moi ya Presidency nyumbani Baringo (We have embarked on a journey to bring back Mzee Moi's presidency back home to Baringo)," he stated.

"Tumeshikana na viongozi wengine kutoka Western, Nyanza, Rift Valley, Eastern, Coast na North Eastern kurudisha kiti ya presidency katika County ya Baringo (We have joined hands with other leaders from across the country to have the presidency back in Baringo County)," he noted

According to the legislator, Raila's visit to Moi's Kabarak home focused on the 2022 succession and the possible players.

"Si mliona nikiwa na Raila juzi pale Kabarak pamoja na Mzee Moi, tunapanga maneno (You saw me with Raila and Moi at Kabarak, we are coming up with a plan).

"Mimi niko hapo mbele, napanga serikali ili ikiwa serikali tuwe ndani kwa sababu hii ingine inalegalega kidogo (I am at the frontline of planning the next government so that when it materializes we will be having a say. The current government is not up to our expectations)," the Tiaty legislator indicated.

He maintained that the journey towards the 2022 presidency had begun adding that the was at the forefront of it.

Raila's visit to Moi has caused jitters among the political circles with some fearing the possible impact on 2022 succession politics.

For instance, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen accused Gideon of barring leaders affiliated to DP William Ruto from meeting the former Head of State.
