Raila Odinga Arrives For Gor Mahia Match With Helicopter at Afraha Stadium

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga was the topic of discussion on Tuesday when he landed with a helicopter during Gor Mahia match in Nakuru.

One of two helicopters carrying the opposition leader landed in the middle of the Afraha Stadium when the match dubbed the HullCityChallenge was at halftime much to the amazement of the fans.

He was accompanied by Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja, Madakadara MP George Aladwa, football legend Joe Kadenge and Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri having attended Labour day celebrations at Uhuru park earlier in the day.

His entrance was the source of discussion online with many clearly impressed with his entrance.

"Then they decided to land their helicopter right in the middle of the field at halftime," one user observed.

Another noted: "After walking and being teargassed, to his car marooned and pelted with stones, baba can land on top of my roof for all I care."

Others were of the opinion that President Uhuru Kenyatta should borrow a leaf from Raila as this would reduce traffic in the city.

"And that is what President Uhuru Kenyatta should be doing in order to stop interfering with people's day to day activities by creating unnecessary traffic jams. Let he be using a helicopter to be landing directly to the place he is having function," one Kenyan recommended.

Gor Mahia popularly referred to as K'Ogalo edged out AFC leopards in a thrilling match that went to penalties for the winner to be determined.

After a barren draw at full time, the referee directed for the penalties where Gor upstaged their Mashemeji with 5 penalties to 4.

Following their triumph, K'Ogalo will now play English team Hull City on May 13 at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani.
